This week was anti-bullying week and Ilam School celebrated in a number of ways. We started off by sitting together as a whole school to eat lunch; something which will continue during fine weather. We had buddy time together with Room 10 to make paper chains with statements reading 'I am _______ and I am proud ______'. Children filled in each space with their name and something they are proud of. Three children per class were selected to stand up in assembly to share theirs to show how it's great to be different! Medha, Anya and Thea shared their statements.
During our buddy time we also spent time painting out own rocks into multi-coloured fish. This was based on a gorgeous book called 'Only One You' that uses painted rock fish to tell a story with amazing advice. There was some amazing teamwork to complete these activities!
There will be a space in the school where all the painted rocks can be displayed together.
After rocks were painted, there was some time to chill with our buddies and read some books. It was funny where some managed to squeeze themselves!
